Resuming their second innings on 181/6, Team India slipped to 209/8 within the first hour of the morning session on Day 5 in the second Test against England at Lord’s.
India's lead was only 182 at that point and the hosts were looking in a commanding position. However, pacers Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah changed the course of the game with their stunning batting display.
The duo shared an unbroken 77-run stand for the ninth wicket to take the visitors to 286/8 at Lunch, stretching the lead to 259 runs.

In particular, Shami proved to be the nightmare for English bowlers as he slammed his second half-century in the longest format and remained unbeaten on 52 off 67 deliveries.
On the other hand, Bumrah played the role of second fiddle to perfection in the partnership, staying unbeaten on 30 when the Lunch break was taken.
It was an incredible effort by the lower-order and the entire Indian team appreciated it. The team members came down to the long room to receive Shami, Bumrah upon their entry to the dressing room.
