ENG v IND: "The main character is missing," Jaffer on R Ashwin's omission from Lord's Test

Wasim Jaffer posted a cryptic tweet to hint India missing Ashwin on Day five of 2nd Test match.

R Ashwin | GettyTeam India who was reduced to 181/6 at stumps on Day 4 will be missing R Ashwin as England’s Moeen Ali looked really lethal from the second session onwards in this second Test match at Lord’s.

While a lot of fans had expressed their displeasure after not seeing Ashwin in Indian XI for the Test match, former India batsman Wasim Jaffer who is known for his sarcastic tweets and jibes, decided to take it to Twitter to point out how India will miss the off-spinner on Day 5.

Let me tell you a kutti story.. The main character is missing.. #ENGvIND,” wrote Jaffer on Twitter.

In his tweet, the right-hand batsman posted a couple of images of a delivery being pitched in the rough created outside off stump, hinting how visitors will be missing the Chennai-based spinner on the final day of this second Test match.

Have a look at Wasim Jaffer’s Tweet:

As far as the Lord’s Test match is concerned, after conceding a lead of 27 runs to England in the first innings, thanks to skipper Joe Root’s unbeaten 180, India were in a bit of trouble after losing openers KL Rahul (5) and Rohit Sharma (21) early.

But, thanks to a century partnership between Pujara (45) and Rahane (61), the tourists were back on track. After a brilliant spell by Moeen Ali, India finds themselves in a bit of a worry as the scoreboard reads 181/6 with Rishabh Pant (14) and Ishant Sharma (4) at the crease.
