Indian cricket team would be pleased with their performance on Day 1 of the second Test against England at Lord's. They were asked to bat first by Joe Root and the visitors started with a solid first-wicket stand of 126 runs.

An unbeaten hundred from KL Rahul (127*) and a half-century from Rohit Sharma (83) helped India post 276/3 at stumps on Day 1. India captain Virat Kohli, who couldn't open his account in the first Test, also came close to a half-century before getting out on 42.

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra is backing India to get close to 400 runs and he believes Rahul will cross 150 runs on the second day of the match. "India will score more than 375 runs. They are still 100 runs away from that, I feel they will reach till there."

"I feel Rahul will cross the 150-run mark. Fingers, toes, everything crossed," he added in his YouTube video.

Chopra further talked about the hosts and said the English pacer James Anderson will pick two more wickets. He has already bagged a couple of wickets by dismissing Rohit and Cheteshwar Pujara.

"Anderson will take two more wickets. Yes, I expect from Jimmy Anderson that he has already taken two wickets and he will take two more before India is bowled out," he said.

The 43-year-old added that the second day will belong to India and England would be at the mercy of the rain god to save them.

"England, I feel, by evening can lose three or even more than three wickets. I think India will assert a lot of control, obviously, all that if the rain doesn't fall and the rain gods don't come to help England. This day in my opinion is going to belong to India one more time," he added.
