Team India squad on Monday (August 9) departed for London for the second Test against England, due to be held at the iconic Lord’s from August 12, reported PTI.

As per the report, replacement players Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav stayed in Nottingham to complete their quarantine.

The report further says that the entire Indian contingent left for London at around 11 AM local time after every member returned negative in RT-PCR tests.

Shaw and Suryakumar, who landed in Nottingham on August 3, will have to be in isolation till August 13, which means that they can resume training from August 14.

Both of them shall be available for selection from the third Test, scheduled to be played at Leeds from August 25.

Considering the fact that there is a nine-day gap between second and third Test, it will certainly give the duo sufficient chance to train and be match ready in case the team management feels the necessity of playing either of the two.

According to PTI, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly is set to leave for London on Tuesday (August 10) to watch the second Test at Lord's.

This development comes as UK authorities moved Indian travellers from red to amber list. The move from red to amber list means that any person who is fully vaccinated will not need to serve the mandatory 10-day hard quarantine period.

The report also suggests that the BCCI secretary Jay Shah, vice-president Rajiv Shukla, treasurer Arun Dhumal might be in the UK to watch the Indian team play at some point during the series.

"For any of the office bearers, it was very difficult with 10-day hard quarantine in place as everyone's busy schedule goes for a toss.

"Since some of the travel protocols have been relaxed, especially the quarantine, our office bearers if they want can now attend," the report stated.
