India's captain Virat Kohli failed to score in the first innings of the opening Test at Trent Bridge. On Thursday (August 5), Kohli was dismissed on a golden duck by the England fast bowler James Anderson.

Anderson had dismissed Cheteshwar Pujara in the previous delivery before getting Kohli out caught behind in the 41st over of India's innings. Kohli's first-ball duck left fans on social media upset.

India were in a comfortable position in the match after bowling out England on 183 runs in the first innings. They started their innings with a big first wicket partnership of 97 runs before Rohit Sharma got out. It was just a matter of time before India started collapsing from a solid start.

From 97/0, the Kohli-led team was struggling at 112/4 in the 44th over. India's vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane was run out by Jonny Bairstow after a mix-up with opener KL Rahul. At the end of stumps, the visitors scored 125/4 as the rain didn't allow more overs on Day 2.

While some fans were extremely disappointed by Kohli's short stay at the crease, the memers tried to come up with their funny takes on the dismissal.
