ENG v IND 2021: If India can't beat Stokes-less England, they should go home, says Vaughan

Team India bowled out England for just 183 runs and ended Day 1 with 21/0.

Team India | GettyThe Indian team had a great outing on Day 1 of the first Test match against England at Trent Bridge in Nottingham as the tourists managed to bowl out hosts England with just 183 runs on the board.

While the bowling department did their job exceptionally well, it was up to Indian openers to give their team a good start and Rohit Sharma (9* off 40 balls) and KL Rahul (9* off 39 balls) were up for it as they ensured Team India had all 10 wickets intact at the end of day’s play.

While it is a slightly weakened England side as along with Ben Stokes taking an indefinite break from the game, they are also missing pacer Jofra Archer and a gun all-rounder Chris Woakes.

Thus, the former England skipper Michael Vaughan talked about how if the Indian team of this caliber with the likes of Kohli, Pujara, Bumrah in the side fails to beat this weak English team, they should probably go home.

I'm going to put India under a huge amount of pressure. If they can't beat this England side, with the team that they have, on the back of winning in Australia (twice). On the back of the unfortunate incidents in terms of Ben Stokes missing out, no Chris Woakes – his record in the UK is exceptional, no Jofra Archer.

If India can't beat this England side, on the back of New Zealand winning here decently, they should go home, simple as that, Vaughan told Cricbuzz.

The last time an Indian team won against England in England, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, and Sachin Tendulkar used to represent India as it came a long time back in 2007. Thus, it will be exciting to see if this current team manages to register yet another Test series win on English soil.
