The duo of Suryakumar Yadav and Prithvi Shaw will fly to the UK to join the Indian Test squad in 24 hours after they returned negative tests for the COVID-19 virus.
Both of them were in Sri Lanka with the white-ball Indian team and were in isolation after being deemed close contacts of Krunal Pandya, who tested positive for COVID-19. However, their last PCR tests done on Sunday have been found to be Covid-19 negative and are ready to depart for England in the next 24 hours, it is learnt.
While the Indian team returned from Sri Lanka a couple of days back, the duo, along with Yuzvendra Chahal and K. Gowtham, had to stay back along with Krunal Pandya.

"They are waiting for their visas. Because of the two holidays (Saturday and Sunday), they could not receive the same through the United Kingdom Embassy office in Sri Lanka. The travel agent has been following up the matter and it is hoped they would leave within 24 hours to join Team India in England", one of the sources said.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the BCCI are using the special provision for athletes to fly Suryakumar Yadav and Prithvi Shaw to the UK. Both have been called in as replacements for injured Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan, and Washington Sundar.
