Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh heaped praise on Rohit Sharma for his exceptional performance both as a batter and skipper in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

The 2011 World Cup winner said that the team always comes first for Rohit, and that’s why the senior opener is such a successful player in limited-overs cricket. The legendary all-rounder said that Rohit bats on a different level, and he has always been a team player.

Notably, Rohit led Team India to 10 consecutive wins in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023. The Men in Blue will now face the five-time champions, Australia, in the final on November 19 in Ahmedabad.

Yuvraj Singh was quoted as saying by Sports Tak:Rohit Sharma bats on a different level. If he plays 40 balls, he'll score 7-80 runs. If he plays 100 balls, he might score a double hundred.”

He added, “Rohit Sharma is a team player, he's always been a team player. For him, the team always comes first. That's the reason he's been so successful, especially in white-ball cricket.”

Meanwhile, Yuvraj also lauded Rohit’s captaincy, saying the hitman is a very good captain under pressure and has immense experience as the skipper, having won five IPL titles with the Mumbai Indians.

He signed off by saying, “The good thing about Rohit is that he's a very good captain under pressure. He's gained a lot of experience with the five IPL titles that he's won. He knows when and how to use his bowlers.”

Notably, the Men in Blue entered the final of the World Cup 2023 after 10 wins in a row, while defeating New Zealand in the semifinal by 70 runs in Mumbai. On the other hand, Australia defeated South Africa by three wickets in the second semifinal to make it to the CWC final for the 8th time.
