India completed the league stage of the World Cup 2023 with their ninth consecutive win as they defeated Netherlands by 160 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and led from the front with 61, while Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli scored 51 each. Shreyas Iyer (128*) and KL Rahul (102) smashed hundreds as India finished with 410/4 in their 50 overs. It was the second-highest score for India in World Cup history, and the fifth-highest overall of all-time.

Netherlands responded quite well with the bat but were never in the tall chase, as India chose to experiment with their bowling options using Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, and even Rohit Sharma himself towards the end. Teja Nidamanuru (54) struck a fine half-century.

Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets each as Netherlands were bowled out for 250 in 47.5 overs. Interestingly, Kohli and Rohit picked a wicket each and those moments were truly enjoyed by the crowd as well as their wives in attendance.
