Indian pacers have been fantastic so far in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, but legendary Sourav Ganguly is not sure whether this bowling attack is India's best ever in white-ball cricket.
Team India’s bowling attack has been on fire, as they conceded 200 runs only on three occasions in the ongoing Cricket World Cup 2023. Notably, the Men in Blue have won all eight matches and became the first team to qualify for the semifinals of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023.
Well, Mohammad Shami has snared 16 wickets at an average of 7 and an economy rate of 4.3 in just 4 World Cup 2023 matches, while Jasprit Bumrah has 15 wickets in 8 matches at an average of 15.53 and an economy rate of 3.65 in the showpiece event. Mohammed Siraj has also taken 10 wickets.
On the other hand, senior spin all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is India's most successful spinner so far, with 14 scalps in 8 matches, while Kuldeep Yadav has 12 to his name in the tournament.
The remarkable performance of the Indian bowlers led people to wonder whether this Indian bowling attack is the best ever in white-ball cricket. Ganguly however isn't sure.
Sourav Ganguly was quoted as saying by Sports Tak: “I can't say this is the best-ever Indian pace attack to date. In the 2003 World Cup, (Ashish) Nehra, Zaheer (Khan), and (Javagal) Srinath also bowled brilliantly.”
He added, “But yeah, it's exciting to see Bumrah, Shami and Siraj bowl. It's a big difference when you have Bumrah. There's pressure from both ends as it is always about bowing in pairs. Bumrah makes a massive impact on the other two as well.”

Ganguly signed off by saying, “Yes, Shami should have played in the XI a lot earlier. Look at the impact he has made.”
Notably, India will next face the Netherlands in the World Cup 2023 on November 12 in Bengaluru.
