The Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team is the only unbeaten team and as a result were the first team to qualify for the semifinals of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

However, India’s unbeaten campaign at the ongoing Cricket World Cup 2023 also funnily became a cause for concern for fans and cricket experts.

Fans have been fearing that the Men in Blue could falter in the semi-final stage of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, as they have seen the same story in the past.

India crashed out of the semi-finals in the 2019 edition, losing to eventual runners-up New Zealand, and then suffered another heartbreak against England in the T20 World Cup last year.

Reacting to the same, West Indies legend Viv Richards hailed Team India’s show in the tournament. The legendary batter also shared crucial advice for the hosts on how to deal with 'fears of a bad game in the semi-final'.

He said India shouldn’t change its mindset in the knockouts.

Sir Viv Richards was quoted as saying by ICC: “In terms of this year’s competition, India have a mindset that they can go all the way playing like this. That absolutely should be their mindset and would be mine if I was in that dressing room – let’s go out with all guns blazing. That approach has worked so far and if that changes, things may go astray.”

He signed off by saying, “I believe they can go all the way unbeaten, which is really something to strive for. There may be some fears of ‘we have played so well so far, there may be a bad game around the corner in the semi-final’. They have to try and nullify those and banish any negative thoughts.”
