Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq has taken a dig at Australia ahead of their World Cup 2023 clash at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday (November 7).

Taking to Instagram, Naveen posted a story, saying that it would be interesting to see Cricket Australia’s stance after refusing to play a bilateral series.

Earlier this year, Australia pulled out of a three-match ODI series against Afghanistan in protest over the ruling Taliban’s restrictions on women and girls’ education and employment.

“Refusing to play the bilateral series, now it will be interesting to see cricket Australia stand in the World Cup #standards #humanrights or 2 points,” Naveen wrote.

Australia had pulled out of the series against Afghanistan which offered ICC ODI Super League points. All 30 points were awarded to Afghanistan after CA’s decision to forfeit the series

In response to Australia's withdrawal, Naveen had pulled out of the Big Bash League (BBL) midway through the season. He featured in a couple of games for the Sydney Sixers before ending his BBL contract.

Afghanistan have impressed one and all with their performances in this World Cup. They have won three out of their seven matches and a win against Australia would keep their semi-final hopes alive.
