CWC 2023: WATCH – Indian pacers run riot in Mumbai to reduce Sri Lanka to 3/4 in 19 balls

Indian fast bowlers ran through the Sri Lankan top-order at the Wankhede Stadium.

Bumrah and Siraj wreaked havoc with the new ball | HotstarIndia are currently facing Sri Lanka in Match 33 of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Asked to bat first, the hosts rode on half-centuries from Shubman Gill (92), Virat Kohli (88) and Shreyas Iyer (82) to pile up a mammoth 357/8 on the board.

Defending the total, Indian fast bowlers ran through the Sri Lankan top-order and reduced them to 3/4 in just 3.1 overs.

On the very first delivery of the chase, Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Pathum Nissanka LBW with a peach of a delivery. In the following over, Mohammed Siraj trapped Dimuth Karunaratne in front of the wicket and removed Sadeera Samarawickrama caught at third slip.

The third over bowled by Bumrah didn’t produce a wicket but Siraj cleaned up Kusal Mendis with a jaffa on the first delivery of the fourth over.

Among the dismissed Sri Lankan batters, only Mendis (1) was able to open his account as he scored 1 off 10 balls.

Here are the videos of the four dismissals:
