Indian fielding has been very good in this ongoing CWC 2023 tournament.

Jadeja signaling for the medal after taking Rahim's catch | GettyIndian fielding has been top-notch thus far in their ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 match against Bangladesh. This encounter is taking place at MCA Stadium in Pune on October 19, 2023.

Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bat first. Shakib Al Hasan missed out due to his quad injury and Najmul Hossain Shanto captained the side in his absence. India came into this match unchanged.

Openers Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das started cautiously but opened up after settling in on a batting-friendly pitch. The openers took command shortly as they added 93 runs in 14.1 overs. Tanzid Hasan made 51 and Litton Das scored 66 runs.

Bangladesh then lost wickets consistently as Najmul Shanto made 8 and Mehidy Hasan made 3 runs. Towhid Hridoy fell for 16 runs as well. Their last hope for a big score was veteran Mushfiqur Rahim.

The right-handed keeper-batter was batting well and setting himself for an explosive finish. He had made 38 runs with one four and one six and decided to accelerate. However, he tried this acceleration again Jasprit Bumrah.

In the 43rd over, Bumrah bowled a slower delivery on the off-stump. The batter tried to scythe the ball over backward point. He hits it pretty hard but got no elevation. Ravindra Jadeja stationed at the position dived to his right to take a very good catch.

Jadeja stood up after taking the catch and gestured to India fielding coach T Dilip who was at the boundary ropes, to give him the best fielder medal now. Dilip smilingly applauded Jadeja.
