While Rohit slammed 131 off 84 balls against Afghanistan in Delhi, he followed it up with an imperious 86 off 63 balls against arch-rivals Pakistan in Ahmedabad. As a result, the Indian captain has moved up five spots to now rank 6th in the batters' chart with 719 rating points to his name.

Rohit’s opening partner Shubman Gill held onto his second spot after overcoming illness to kick off his World Cup campaign with 16 runs against Pakistan.

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam retained his top position in the chat. With his half-century against India, Babar extended his lead in the ODI batting rankings to 18 points.

South African opener Quinton de Kock started the tournament with two successive centuries but missed an opportunity to climb even closer to top spot as he was dismissed for 20 against Netherlands in Dharamsala on Tuesday (October 17).

However, De Kock has gained three spots to third in the ODI batting rankings, surpassing teammate Rassie van der Dussen in fourth.

Afghanistan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz (up 19 spots to 18th) and Netherlands captain Scott Edwards (up 16 spots to 27th) have also surged in the batting rankings following their knocks of 80 and 78* against England and South Africa respectively.

New Zealand pacer Trent Boult is within reach of the numero uno position in the ODI Bowling Rankings after his stunning spell (2/45) against Bangladesh.

Boult is only one rating point behind current No. 1 Josh Hazlewood (660 rating points) after moving up one place in the latest ratings update.

Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan has climbed two spots higher to fourth place in the bowling rankings, while South Africa’s own spinner Keshav Maharaj makes a bigger move of seven spots to equal fifth alongside Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
