Not long ago, Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq was at the receiving end of Indian fans’ jeering in the stadiums.
However, things have turned upside down ever since the India versus Afghanistan clash in the ongoing World Cup at Arun Jaitely Stadium in Delhi on October 11.
During that match, Naveen and India’s star batter Virat Kohli, who were involved in an ugly spat during the IPL 2023 season, buried the hatched. They shared a handshake and hug out there in the middle, much to the delight of the fans.
After his wholesome moment with Kohli, Naveen-ul-Haq has now become a fan-favourite. On Sunday (October 15), the Delhi crowd cheered for the right-arm quick after he dismissed England skipper Jos Buttler with a peach of a delivery.
During the 18th over of England’s innings, Naveen cleaned up Buttler with a beauty. As soon as he picked the prized scalp, the spectators present at the Arun Jaitely Stadium erupted in joy and cheered for the Afghanistan cricketer.
