CWC 2023: WATCH - Virat Kohli shares warm hug with Rohit Sharma's wife Ritika post win over Pakistan

India extended their unbeaten streak against Pakistan in the Cricket World Cup after hammering them by 7 wickets in Match 12 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, October 14.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first, and his bowlers vindicated his decision by cleaning up Pakistan for just 191 in 42.5 overs.

Babar Azam scored 50, and Mohammad Rizwan made 49 as Pakistan slumped from 155/2 to lose 8 wickets for 36 runs. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets each.

In reply, captain Rohit Sharma smashed 86 off 63 balls, while Shreyas Iyer scored an unbeaten 53 as India completed the chase easily in just 30.3 overs to beat Pakistan for the 8th time in a row in the tournament's history. Jasprit Bumrah won the Player-of-the-Match award for his 2/19 in 7 overs.

The match was attended by over a lakh fans, almost all Indian, who created a lot of noise and pressure on the Pakistan team and it reflected in their ordinary performance. Rohit Sharma's wife Ritika Sajdeh and Virat Kohli's wife Anushka Sharma were also cheering for the team from the stands as they sat together along with R Ashwin's wife Prithi Narayanan.

After the players returned to the team hotel, Ritika, Anushka, and Prithi were engaged in a conversation when a cheerful Virat came towards them to talk about the game. Virat and Ritika exchange a warm hug before having few words and the moment touched the hearts of fans who shared the clip and praised the camaraderie of the Team India family.
