India opener Shikhar Dhawan unveiled his Shah Rukh Khan “Jawan” inspired look at a talk show on TV while talking about India’s chances at the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 and said that the Men in Blue will win the trophy.
Dhawan has not been considered for the Indian team in any format since last playing for the side in December 2022. He was also not in plans for the Asian Games as well.
Shikhar Dhawan appeared on an ABP News show out of nowhere on the stage, leaving the host confused. Dhawan had his face wrapped in bandages like Shah Rukh Khan had his in his recent blockbuster movie “Jawan”.
Dhawan also repeated a dialogue from Jawan, expressing his confidence in Rohit Sharma-led Team India to lift the World Cup trophy.
He then said: "World Cup toh is bar hum lekar hee jaayenge."
When asked by the host who was he, the southpaw asked her and the audience to guess. Moments later, Dhawan uncovered himself.
The Men in Blue, led by Rohit Sharma, got their campaign off to a dream start, beating Australia by 6 wickets. After losing the toss, the Indian spin trio put on a stellar show to restrict the five-time champions to 199.
Later, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul shared a 165-run stand to rescue India from a precarious 2-3 and drove them home.
