CWC 2023: WATCH – Dharamsala crowd teases Naveen-ul-Haq with ‘Kohli, Kohli’ chants during Afghanistan-Bangladesh clash

Naveen and Kohli were involved in a heated altercation during the IPL 2023 season.

The duo engaged in a war of words during the LSG-RCB clash at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on May 1. The on-field aggression spilled over to the post-match handshakes as they had another verbal spat.

After his altercation with Kohli, Naveen faced the wrath of the fans on social media and in the stadiums. Irrespective of the venue, the crowd broke into "Kohli, Kohli" chants whenever he came into bowl during the IPL games. He was also heckled by the fans while fielding near the boundary rope on numerous occasions.

The incident continues to draw attention even after so many months. On Saturday (October 7), Naveen-ul-Haq was once again reminded by a section of fans in Dharamsala of his confrontation with Virat Kohli.

During Afghanistan’s opening World Cup match against Bangladesh at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Naveen was fielding along the boundary rope when a few fans erupted into "Kohli, Kohli" chants.

The Afghanistan cricketer, however, didn’t pay attention to the chants and continued to do his job on the field.
