Rohit Sharma is all set to play his first ICC Cricket World Cup as India captain, and millions of fans are expecting that the veteran cricketer will end the 12-year wait of winning the trophy.

Rohit has so far played in two ODI World Cups, and he had a dream run in the last edition, where he smashed five centuries and was the highest run-getter in the tournament. This time, the Hitman would certainly love to lead Team India from the front in the upcoming World Cup 2023, starting on October 5.

Meanwhile, veteran Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik claimed that the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 could be Rohit’s last WC while saying that the right-hander is made for big things.

Dinesh Karthik was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz: “Rohit Sharma is made for big things and has achieved a lot in his career. In many ways, this could be his last ODI World Cup. He's been a very close friend of mine. We have grown together as players and as people.”

The cricket expert continued, “He has a lovely family today, is a proper family man, and spends a lot of time in Mumbai with them, but most importantly, he is somebody who always remembers his roots. Even today, his closest friends are the same people who were there with him 20 years ago.”

Karthik said that Rohit is always in a hurry to get India off to a good start, and even in the upcoming World Cup 2023, he would not care about his score as his goal is clear to win the trophy.

Veteran wicketkeeper further said, “He is somebody who has changed his game so much. He was the highest run-getter in the 2019 World Cup. Even if he gets half the runs, I don't think he will care. He has said himself that he doesn't care about the runs he gets.”

He signed off by saying, “It's all about trying to win this World Cup. The one that he has made sure is to walk the talk. He is always in a hurry to get Team India off to a good start and putting the opponent bowlers to rest.”
