CWC 2023: WATCH – “Chemistry is same, physics is same,” Rizwan’s hilarious comment on batting partnership with Babar

Rizwan left everyone in splits with his hilarious mid-innings interview.

Mohammad Rizwan | ScreengrabMohammad Rizwan produced a brilliant batting performance in Pakistan’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 warm-up match against New Zealand at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on Friday (September 29).

The wicketkeeper-batter arrived in the middle during the 12th over when the Men in Green were struggling at 46/2. It was a tricky phase and the right-hander ensured Pakistan don’t suffer any more hiccups as he added 114 runs for the third wicket with skipper Babar Azam.

While Babar fell after scoring 80 off 84 balls, Rizwan held the one end firmly and went to slam a century. He reached the three-figure mark with a boundary off Daryl Mitchell in the 40th over. In the process, he also forged a 159-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Saud Shakeel (75 off 53 balls).

After scoring 103 off 94 balls, Mohammad Rizwan retired himself out. His knock was studded with 9 fours and 2 sixes.

In his mid-innings interview, Rizwan left everyone in splits as he hilariously mentioned that his chemistry and physics is same as that of Babar Azam.

Rizwan’s comment came when the presenter asked him to reflect on his partnership with Babar during the warm-up fixture.

Rizwan’s comical interview also sparked laughter and memefest on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

Here are the reactions:

Thanks to Rizwan’s hundred and half-centuries from Babar and Saud, Pakistan piled up a mammoth 345/5 in their allotted 50 overs.

However, the efforts of Pakistani batters went in vain as the Kiwis chased down the target with five wickets in hand and 38 deliveries to spare.
