Pakistan team arrived in India for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023 which begins on October 5. The Babar Azam-led side has set base in Hyderabad where they will play the warmup matches and their first two CWC encounters as well.
The Pakistan side set foot on Indian soil for the first time since 2016 and received a warm welcome from the fans and officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad.
The very next day, Pakistan had its training sessions at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad.
The training session witnessed active participation from the majority of the squad, including key players such as the captain, Babar Azam, alongside Shaheen Afridi, Hassan Ali, Haris Rauf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Salman Ali Agha, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Wasim Junior, Mohammad Haris, and Zaman Khan.
Meanwhile, opener Fakhar Zaman, shared a photo of himself from the training session and also had a warm greeting for India. He captioned his post: “Hello Bharat”.
Recently, there was a huge uproar as rumors spread that India was going to be renamed Bharat. This was after the G20 summit invites in Delhi were addressed by 'President of Bharat'. Even Virender Sehwag urged BCCI secretary Jay Shah to rename the national side to Bharat instead of the Indian team.
Pakistan is set to face New Zealand in a warm-up match scheduled for Friday in Hyderabad. And then will clash with Australia in their second warm-up encounter on October 3.
