Pakistan captain Babar Azam reacted to the loving reception the Men in Green squad got on arriving in India at the Hyderabad airport for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023. Pakistan arrived in India via Dubai.
Babar and the rest of the Pakistan players looked in a jolly mood upon their arrival at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad on Wednesday. Babar also took to social media to express his delight at the warm welcome he and his teammates received.
Babar and the team's star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi were in high spirits and were visibly smiling as they posed for the camerapersons.
This is the first time since 2016, that Pakistan team has stepped onto Indian soil. Taking to Instagram, Babar posted a story which read: "Overwhelmed with love and support here in Hyderabad".
Ahead of the World Cup, Pakistan will play their warm-up match against New Zealand which is scheduled to take place in Hyderabad on September 29 behind closed doors.
Their first World Cup match will be against the Netherlands in Hyderabad on October 6.
