Earlier, the final, which is set to be played on September 17, was the only game to have a reserve day, which stands.

Rain had forced a washout in Pallekele when India and Pakistan first faced each other in this Asia Cup. Rain then returned in India's first international match against Nepal, at the same venue.

But with a forecast of 90% heavy rains lingering on the India vs. Pakistan Super 4s encounter in Colombo, it has been reported that a reserve day has been allotted for the big-ticket match, as per ESPNCricinfo report.

The weather forecast in Colombo, which will host the remaining matches of the Asia Cup 2023, for the next week, has a high probability of heavy rains.

Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the official hosts of the tournament, wanted the matches to be shifted to Hambantota, which is a dry part of Sri Lanka. Ultimately, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) sent a mail to the stakeholders stating that the matches would be played in Colombo as originally scheduled.

While the PCB reluctantly agreed to be decision, it wrote a letter to the ACC president Jay Shah, protesting the decision-making process.
