The Dasun Shanaka-led Sri Lankan team members received an open-roof bus parade when they returned back home after winning the Asia Cup 2022. Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan in the final of the tournament on September 11 in Dubai to clinch their 6th title.
On their return to Sri Lanka, the team was welcomed by officials from Sri Lanka Cricket and the Sports Ministry at the Bandaranaike International Airport on Tuesday morning.
The team has been garnering praise from all over the world for their spectacular performance in the tournament and following their win, the players took part in a massive victory parade.
In the pictures posted by Sri Lanka Cricket on their social media, players are seen traveling in an open-roof bus with fans following them on bikes nearby and people gathering on the side of the road to cheer their heroes who have brought some happiness to them amidst the gloom and doom of the crisis in the country.
