Virat Kohli claimed many people have his number, but only MS Dhoni messaged him.

It seems that the war of words has yet again broken out between Virat Kohli and the BCCI, and this time it was started by the former Indian skipper, well ahead of Team India’s do-or-die clash against Sri Lanka in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 on Tuesday (September 6).

Actually, after the India vs. Pakistan Asia Cup 2022 super 4s Match in Dubai on September 4, Kohli claimed that he received a text message only from MS Dhoni when he quit the Test captaincy, and he felt relieved to know that there is someone who truly cares about him.

However, Kohli’s statement hasn't gone down well with the BCCI, as one official called out the dashing right-hander for making false allegations that he didn't get the backing of people around him in the team and the board.

A senior BCCI official told Insidesport: “Virat has had the backing of everyone. From his teammates to everyone at the BCCI. To say that he did not get the support is not true. He was granted a break to rejuvenate, he got frequent rest. Even everyone at BCCI wished him on social media when he stepped down from Test captaincy. So, I don’t know what he is talking about.”

Notably, Kohli is in good form with the bat in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022, where he smashed two back-to-back half-centuries against Hong Kong and Pakistan. He would really like to continue his form against Sri Lanka, as it is a must-win match for India to keep their final hope alive.
