Asia Cup 2022: WATCH- Virat Kohli and Wasim Akram share a handshake and a hug before India-Pakistan clash

Kohli became the second Indian to play 100 T20Is after Rohit Sharma.

Virat Kohli and Wasim Akram hug | TwitterThe India vs Pakistan tie in the Asia Cup 2022 is the most awaited one as the arch-rivals face off for the first time since the T20 World Cup 2021 where the Babar Azam-led side prevailed over the Men in Blue.

This time the match is also special as Virat Kohli reached the milestone of playing 100 T20I matches for India and became only the second Indian to do so and the second cricketer to play 100 or more matches in all three formats of international cricket.

The match also sees the return of Virat Kohli to the team after over a month, as he was rested for India's previous two limited-overs series against West Indies and Zimbabwe.

Before the match, a heartwarming incident was seen as Virat Kohli walked up to Pakistan legend Wasim Akram and the duo shared a handshake and then hugged with Kohli wearing a broad smile.

Meanwhile, India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to field first. India team management preferred Dinesh Karthik as the keeper over Rishabh Pant and Avesh Khan played over a spinner. For Pakistan, Naseem Shah made his T20I debut for Pakistan.
