Asia Cup 2022: WATCH- Virat Kohli's hunger, passion unmatchable-Indian players wish him ahead of 100th T20I

Virat Kohli will be only the 2nd player to play in 100 or more games in all three international forms.

Virat Kohli | TwitterAs Virat Kohli prepares for his 100th T20I for India, his teammates including captain Rohit Sharma wished him on his achievement. He will become only the second Indian to reach this milestone after Rohit Sharma, who has played 132 T20Is, the most by any player in the world today.

Kohli will also become only the second player to play in 100 or more matches in all three formats of international cricket with New Zealand’s Ross Taylor being the only other to do so.

Rohit Sharma heaped praise on Virat Kohli, saying the former skipper is peerless when it comes to the energy and passion that he displays on the field. He also said that he hopes Virat Kohli finds his best form in the UAE as India tries and defend its continental crown.

"His hunger and his passion are unmatchable. Every time, you see him, he comes out with a different energy. It's definitely not easy to play 100 games for India across formats. So I would personally congratulate him for that.

It's a massive achievement. Every time, you see him, his game seems to be at a different level. I hope Asia Cup will be no different. Massive player for us, without a doubt. I hope he is at his best for the team's sake,” he said in a video posted by Star Sports.

Meanwhile, all-rounder, Hardik Pandya called Kohli’s 100 T20Is a massive achievement citing the workload of current players.

"To play that amount of cricket itself is a big achievement, leave the record aside. People will remember this achievement for a very long time, I don't see this happening in the near future, very often. People playing 3 formats and playing 100 games in each, the kind of cricket we are playing, it looks like it's going to be difficult. His records speak for themselves," Hardik said.

Ravindra Jadeja, who has played with Kohli since their U19 days and won the junior World cup in 2008, said that the Delhi batter was passionate and energetic right from his early days.

"From the U19 days, we have been playing together. From then, his dedication and hunger haven't changed. It will only improve from here, I think. He works so hard for his runs, his fitness, everything,” Jadeja said.
