Former India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav commented on Abhishek Sharma’s Instagram post after his poor form with the bat continues. Abhishek failed to cross the 20-run mark in the recent three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe.
He made scores of 1, 8 and 2 in the three games against Zimbabwe. This was after he had started the UK T20I series well, scoring 49 and 0 against Ireland and 59 and 43 runs against England in the first two T20Is of the five-match series.
He also had a difficult time in India’s T20 World Cup 2026 win, with 155 runs in 8 matches with two fifties and a best score of 89.
Indian team management has backed Abhishek Sharma despite his struggling form and calls for him to be dropped from the Indian team to give chances to other players.
Abhishek Sharma shared his feelings on Instagram, stating that he will be back stronger.
“It hurts when you can’t give back what so many people believe you’re capable of. But this game always rewards those who keep showing up. Happy that the team got the win. Will be back stronger,” Abhishek posted on Instagram.
He received encouraging comments from fans on his post, and that included one from his ex-India captain Suryakumar Yadav. Abhishek Sharma spent the majority of his India T20I career under Suryakumar Yadav and flourished into a destroyer of bowling attacks at the top and even became the No. 1-ranked T20I batter.
Suryakumar Yadav reminded Abhishek of all the reasons he had given to smile since his debut in 2024. He also reminded him of the glory he helped India gain and stated that it was a matter of time before he regained his form.
“You given so many reasons to smile for 2 years in a row boyy. Given glory to INDIA when it mattered the most. Matter of time. Be yourself,” Suryakumar posted in comments.
