Glenn Phillips is widely regarded as one of the best fielders in the world.

Glenn Phillips' incredible catch | ScreengrabNew Zealand’s Glenn Phillips on Thursday (February 15) gave another glimpse of why he is regarded as one of the best fielders in the world.

During the third day of the second Test against South Africa in Hamilton, Phillips pulled off a blinder to dismiss Keegan Petersen.

The Proteas duo of Petersen and David Bedingham were looking assured at the crease, with their second-innings lead at 233. Having added 98 runs for the fifth wicket, they were threatening to take the game away from the Kiwis. At this point, Phillips produced an incredible fielding effort to break the partnership.

As Petersen tried to cut a delivery from New Zealand pacer Matt Henry, Glenn Phillips, who was stationed at gully, flew like a goalkeeper to his right to pluck a one-handed screamer.

Here’s the video:

Keegan Petersen’s dismissal on 43 trigged a collapse as South Africa’s second innings folded for 235, setting a target of 267 for the BlackCaps. David Bedingham was the top scorer for the visitors with 110 off 141 balls.

At the close of play on Day 3, the hosts were 40/1, needing 227 more runs to win the second Test and clinch the series 2-0. Devon Conway was the only batter to be dismissed in the fourth innings.
