Pat Cummins brought Australia back into the game on Day 2 of the second Test against Pakistan at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Resuming their first innings on 187/3, the hosts were bowled out for 318 in the morning session of the second day.
In reply, Pakistan lost Imam-ul-Haq (10) cheaply but Abdullah Shafique and Shan Masood added 90 runs for the second wicket to put the visitors in a strong position.
Australia badly needed someone to break this partnership and Cummins once again stood for his team. The Aussie skipper took an excellent return catch on his follow-through to dismiss Shafique for 62 in the 35th over.
Two overs later, Cummins produced a peach of a delivery to knock over Pakistan’s ace batter Babar Azam for just 1.
Here’s the video of both dismissals:
The two quick wickets triggered a collapse as Pakistan’s innings slipped to 151/5 in the 45th over. While Nathan Lyon dismissed visiting skipper Masood for 54, Josh Hazlewood cleaned up Saud Shakeel for 9.
