Ashes 2023: WATCH – Pat Cummins cleans up Ollie Pope with a remarkable in-swinging yorker

The Australian captain’s stunning yorker left the commentators in awe.

Pat Cummins cleaned up Ollie Pope with a beauty | GettyAustralia skipper Pat Cummins is widely regarded as one of the best fast bowlers in the longest format of the game. He currently occupies the third position in the ICC Test rankings for bowlers.

On Monday (June 19), Cummins once again gave a glimpse of his brilliance as he got rid of England batter Ollie Pope with a peach of a delivery in the ongoing first Ashes Test at Edgbaston.

Having stitched a 50-run stand for the third wicket with Joe Root, Pope was looking settled before Cummins produced a remarkable in-swinging yorker to clean him up.

The Australian captain’s stunning yorker left the commentators in awe as Ollie Pope made his way back to the pavilion for 14.

Talking about the Edgbaston Test, Australia’s first-innings folded for 386, conceding a meagre 7-run lead to England.

At the close of play on Day 3, the hosts were at 28/2 and they continued with their aggressive approach on the penultimate day of the Test match.

In the process, England kept losing wickets at regular intervals but they also managed to extend their lead beyond 200 runs in the second innings.

After 60 overs, England were 253/8 and stretched their lead to 261 runs. They would hope for the tail-enders to add some handy runs and take the lead beyond 300 for Australia in the final innings.
