WTC 2023 Final: WATCH – Gill, Pujara cleaned up by straighter deliveries as they decide to offer not shot

The dismissals of Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara were quite identical.

After piling up a massive 469/10 in their first innings, Australia reduced India to 50/3 with Rohit Sharma (15), Shubman Gill (13) and Cheteshwar Pujara (14) being dismissed cheaply.

While Rohit was trapped in front of the wicket by his Australian counterpart Pat Cummins, Gill and Pujara were knocked over by Scott Boland and Cameron Green respectively.

The dismissals of Gill and Pujara were quite identical as they lost their wickets to bad misjudgement. Both of them decided to leave straighter deliveries and saw their stumps getting disturbed.

Earlier in the day, Steve Smith completed his 31st century in the longest format of the game. Smith, who was unbeaten on 95 at the close of play on Day 1, reached the three-figure mark in the very first over of the second day with two successive boundaries off Mohammed Siraj.

Smith went on to score 121 and shared a 285-run partnership with Travis Head, who got out after scoring 163).
