Pakistan speedster Naseem Shah has been ruled out of the third and final Test against England in Karachi due to a shoulder injury.
Naseem, 19, picked up a shoulder niggle during the first Test in Rawalpindi and he missed the second game in Multan.
“A niggle in the bowling shoulder has ruled out Naseem Shah from the third and final Test,” PCB said in a statement on Tuesday (December 13).
“The fast bowler will travel to Lahore where he will undergo further assessment at the National High Performance Centre before beginning rehabilitation,” it added.
Injuries to key fast bowlers have been a massive factor behind Pakistan trailing 2-0 in the three-match Test series.
Before Naseem, Haris Rauf sustained a thigh injury during his Test debut in the series opener in Rawalpindi, which ruled him out from the remainder of the series. During the T20 World Cup 2022, left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi aggravated his knee injury and he wasn’t considered for the Test series against England.
While Pakistan lost the Rawalpindi Test by 74 runs, they were beaten by 26 runs in the second match in Multan. The third and final Test will be played in Karachi from December 17.
