Pitches in the ongoing Test series between Pakistan and Australia have become a constant topic of discussion. The first two Tests ended in draws with the first game in Rawalpindi causing major debate for the dull nature of the pitch.

Thanks to a valiant batting effort in the final innings, the hosts managed to salvage a draw in the second Test in Karachi.

With the series levelled at 0-0 after two matches, the surface for the third Test in Lahore was expected to assist the bowlers but it is tilted more in the batter's favour as well.

Batting first, Australia posted 391/10 in their first innings before Pakistan ended the proceedings on Day 2 at 90/1 in 39 overs.

During the last session of the second day’s play in Lahore Test, former Australia pacer Michael Kasprowicz put himself in trouble by criticizing the track on-air.

While discussing the variations from the bowlers on the surface, Kasprowicz called the pitch “flat” and apologized quickly. He then termed the decks as “beautiful batting strips.”

“It's important, isn't it. We talk about the spinners, the variations, the speed is certainly one of those things. But also for the fast bowlers, and certainly Mitchell Starc's speeds have been very consistent here at 140. But I think, the key also, on these flat wickets -- sorry, on these good batting strips, beautiful batting strips,” Kasprowicz said on-air.

Michael Kasprowicz’s awkward moment came after it was reported that PCB chairman Ramiz Raja had issued an instruction for commentators to not discuss the flatness of the pitches throughout the Test series.
