Police shut down post-Ashes party | TwitterIn an unexpected move, police disrupted a post Ashes party in Hobart, where three Australian cricketers and two England players in Joe Root and James Anderson were present.

In a video doing rounds on social media, the officers can be heard saying that it is meant for the lawyers. The Aussie trio of Nathan Lyon, Travis Head, and Alex Carey can be seen enjoying together at the hotel rooftop accompanied by Root and Anderson.

According to reports, the scenes recorded are from Monday (January 17) morning as Lyon and Carey were spotted in Australia’s Test jersey, following the conclusion of the fifth and final Test in Hobart, which the hosts won by 146 runs.

In the clip, a clock on the wall shows the timing 6.30 AM, suggesting that players partied for while night to celebrate the end of Ashes series, which Australia won 4-0.

The report added that police assistance was requested by the hotel staff because of noise complaints. After the confrontation, the group of cricketers agreed to end the party and left the scene.

Coming to the Ashes, Australia won the Test matches in Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Hobart to retain the urn. The visiting England team only managed to escape with a thrilling draw in Sydney.
