Ashes 2021-22: WATCH - Labuschagne slips on the pitch; gets bowled in a bizarre way

Marnus Labuschagne was dismissed on 44 runs in the first innings of the final Ashes Test.

Marnus Labuschagne | GETTY

Australia batter Marnus Labuschagne gave his wicket to Stuart Broad in the first innings of the final Ashes 2021-22 Test. It wasn't a usual bowled dismissal as Labuschagne looked in no position to tackle Broad's delivery.

Labuschagne was dismissed on the first delivery of the 23rd over on Day 1 when Broad shattered his stumps. The Aussie batter went across too far and slipped on the pitch while missing the delivery completely.

Broad was delighted with the wicket and the commentators had a laugh about it. Australia found themselves in trouble after losing four wickets on 83 runs at the Blundstone Arena.

Labuschange was looking good with 44 runs off 52 balls before getting out. He and Travis Head were trying to rebuild Australia's innings after they lost 3 early wickets on just 12 runs.

Before the end of first session, Head scored 31* runs off 33 deliveries and he was joined by Cameron Green, who added 2* runs off 8 deliveries. Australia have already won the five-match Test series and they are leading with 3-0.
