New Zealand batter Ross Taylor got emotional during the national anthem ahead of the second Test match against Bangladesh. Taylor is playing his last Test match for the Blackcaps.

The 37-year-old tried to control his tears as his teammates gave him a pat on the back at the end of New Zealand's national anthem. However, he will feature in a couple of ODI series later this year before bidding adieu to international cricket.

With his appearance in the second Test match at the Hagley Oval, Taylor equaled former skipper Daniel Vettori’s record of playing the most number of Test matches (112) for New Zealand.

On December 30 last year, Taylor had confirmed his retirement from international cricket at the end of the upcoming home season. After this Test series, he will play the ODI series against Australia and Netherlands.

New Zealand will tour Australia at the end of January and the final ODI of the series will be played on February 5. Taylor will then play his last series for the Blackcaps in March-April when they will host the Netherlands.
