The triumphant BlackCaps squad on Monday (July 26) started a week-long ICC World Test Championship (WTC) mace tour across the country.
Kane Williamson and company had defeated India by eight wickets in Southampton last month to clinch the inaugural WTC title.
The mace tour, which started from Whangarei, will cover Auckland, Tauranga, Hamilton, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill throughout the week.
This week-long tour will enable the public to click photographs with the unique trophy and collect autographs and a team poster.
Taking to Twitter, the official handle of BlackCaps shared some pictures from the opening day of the tour.
The nationwide tour involves selected players and support staff assembling at each of the cities on the route.
Notably, Will Sommerville, Jeet Raval, and Todd Astle – who all were involved in the WTC campaign – although they were not part of the WTC 2021 final is also be part of the mace tour and will receive their winner's medals retrospectively.
