Team India once again failed to lift the ICC trophy after getting inches close to the title. New Zealand emerged as the winner of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final as they won the match on reserve day by 8 wickets.

Former India batsman Virender Sehwag, who was part of India's 2011 World Cup-winning side, expressed his disappointment with the outcome. He used a meme from the famous web-series 'Mirzapur' instead of words for the defeat.

Sehwag was expecting better from Team India in the final, who had played outstanding cricket in their last two Test series. "Aapse better umeed kiye the (I had expected better from you)," read the meme.

Later, the ex-cricketer acknowledged the effort by New Zealand to win the inaugural WTC tournament. The Kiwis had lost ICC 2015 World Cup final against Australia, and ICC 2019 World Cup final against England on the basis of boundary count.

"Missed being 50-over champions 2 years ago in the same country, but winning the inaugural World test Championship in style, many congratulations @BLACKCAPS, absolutely worthy champions. Happy for Kane Williamson and @RossLTaylor #INDvNZ," he tweeted.
