Indian fans have gone through a roller-coaster of emotions on Day 6 of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final between India and New Zealand on Wednesday (June 23) at The Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
On Wednesday, TV cameras caught an Indian fan's reaction as it changed from ecstasy to dejection when Trent Boult dismissed Ajinkya Rahane for 15 after conceding a boundary on the Reserve Day of the ongoing WTC 2021 Final at The Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
On the Reserve Day of the WTC Final, all hopes were pinned on Rahane after Virat Kohli and Chesteshwar Pujara fell early to Kyle Jamieson, but he failed to live up to the expectations as the Team India vice-captain tickled one of Boult’s deliveries to the wicket-keeper BJ Watling and lost his wicket.
When Rahane left the crease, the scoreboard read 109/5, as his departure was best summed up by a fan whose expressions from being from ecstasy to dejection captured the camera perfectly.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has shared a clip on Instagram wherein Rahane is seen batting in one frame while the other frame showed how passionate Indian fans were enjoying the game in Southampton.
Well, as the video progressed and Rahane was dismissed by Boult, the energy of the fans dropped completely in a matter of seconds as they were left disappointed by the wicket.
