With rain and bad light playing affecting the four days of the World Test Championship (WTC) final between India and New Zealand, the ICC will certainly have to use the allocated reserve day on June 23 to make up for the lost time.
Meanwhile, the governing body has decided to slash the ticket rates for the reserve sixth day of the marquee game.
"Yes, the prices of the tickets for the sixth day will be reduced. It's a standard practice for Test matches played in United Kingdom. Since the Test match is only open to UK residents, ICC is following the same guidelines," an ICC source told PTI on Monday (June 21).
For the WTC final, the tickets are priced at three slabs -- GBP 150 (INR 15,444), GBP 100 (INR 10,296) and GBP 75 (INR 7722).
The updated rates will be GBP 100 (INR 10,296), GBP 75 (INR 7722) and GBP 50 (INR 5148).
The opening day of the WTC final was washed off by rain and even toss was not possible while 64.4 overs were bowled on the second day before bad light stopped the game.
On Day 3, the weather remained good for most part and almost 77 overs were bowled but poor light played spoilsport in the final session.
Rain once again came to haunt on Day 4 as the play got abandoned without a ball being bowled.
India and New Zealand will be crowned joint winners in case of a draw or a tie.
