New Zealand’s experienced pacer Trent Boult is really excited and eager to play in the upcoming ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final against India starting on Friday (June 18) in Southampton.
Boult further insisted that New Zealand's Test-series victory 1-0 over England would not count for much when they will take on Team India in the WTC 2021 Final, but said that it was good preparation for the team before the mega clash starting June 18 at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton.
Kane Williamson-led New Zealand team arrived in Southampton on Tuesday (June 15) for the WTC Final against India after thrashing the hosts England by eight wickets in the second Test to win the series 1-0 and Boult hopes to keep continue their form against the Indian cricket team.

The veteran pacer had missed the first Test against England as he returned home to be with his family after the suspension of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) and joined the rest of the squad late in the UK and made a brilliant comeback to competitive cricket with match figures of 6-119 in the 2nd Test.
Bolt said on Tuesday, “I don't think it counts for much. Good preparation, and good for everyone to have a hit out and get some time under their belt. Just really looking forward to this week, can't wait, and hopefully, we can continue on our good form.”
The 31-year-old also expects a bit of banter between the India and New Zealand players in the WTC 2021 Final as they are all familiar after having been part of the IPL over the years.
The Kiwi pacer said, “It's a little bit different, (we've seen) a few IPL players and guys we're familiar with from certain teams. I haven't seen any of my fellow Mumbai Indians yet and I'm sure there will be a bit of banter and a few smiles shared.”
Bolt signed off by saying, “Obviously with social distancing everyone is keeping their distance and it's one of those unique situations.”
