Taking to Twitter, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday (June 12) shared some pictures and provided update from Day 2 of the match.

As per the tweet, opener Shubman Gill, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and veteran pacer Ishant Sharma were the star performers of the day.

While Gill scored 85 off 133 balls and Pant smashed 121 not out in just 94 deliveries, Ishant returned with the figures of 3/36.

The WTC final is scheduled to be played between India and New Zealand in Southampton from June 18-22. The ICC has also allocated June 23 as a reserve day to make up for any lost time during the regular days of the final.

India’s top cricketers have been out of action ever since the suspension of IPL 2021 last month. They are relying on intra-squad games to get the much-needed match practice under their belt.

On the other hand, Kiwis are already getting valuable practice for the WTC final, with the two-match Test series underway against England.
