AUS v IND 2020-21: WATCH - "Sachin or Virat?", Marnus Labuschagne quizzes Shubman Gill

Labuschagne wanted to know Shubman Gill's favourite player while the latter faced Mitchell Starc.

Team India bundled out Australia for 338 in the first innings and came out to bat in the closing stages of the second session on Day 2 of the ongoing New Year's Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). While Shubman Gill once again opened the batting with Rohit Sharma, Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne had an interesting question to ask the youngster.

Labuschagne came up with a quick "Who's your favourite player?" question to Shubman Gill while he faced the dangerous Mitchell Starc in the third over of the innings.

Gill was quick to tone down the conversation and told him, "I'll tell you after the game."

Here's the further conversation:

ML: "Ohh c'mon!, (is it) Sachin?"

SG: (No response)

ML: "Or maybe Virat?"

There was no further response from the batsman as he prepped up for the next delivery. Gill was batting on 4 at the time off 9 balls with the Indian score on 5/0. A video of the entire incident was posted on Twitter by cricket.com.au with the caption, "Marnus just wants to know who Gill's favourite player is! #AUSvIND".

Here's the video posted by cricket.com.au:

Shubman Gill scored a combined total of 80 runs in his debut test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground getting out just once and has come to the SCG with confidence to score a lot more runs on what looks like a track more suited for batting.
