West Indies could only add another 7 runs to their overnight score before getting bundled out for 131 and being asked to follow-on by New Zealand on Day 3 of the second Test in Wellington. And for a while, another early finish seemed on the cards, but half-centuries from John Campbell and skipper Jason Holder took the fight back to the opposition and ensured the visitors survived the day. 

Campbell struck a fine 68 off 109 balls as West Indies' top six showed a lot more resolve than they did the previous day, with Kraigg Brathwaite (24), Shamarh Brooks (36) and Jermaine Blackwood (20) also chipping in. But to turnaround their fortunes entirely, the team needed big hundreds from at least two of those individuals.

At 170/6, captain Holder (60*) was joined by debutant Joshua Da Silva (25*) and they stitched together a fine unbeaten stand of 74 runs to take their team closer to making the Kiwis bat again before the bad light brought a premature end to the day. 

Having bagged his maiden five-fer in the first innings, Kyle Jamieson (2/43) added two more scalps to his tally for the match, while Trent Boult (3/75) and Neil Wagner (1/53) shared the four other West Indian wickets that fell.
