New Zealand had another dominating outing against West Indies in the ongoing Hamilton Test as they piled up a mammoth 519/7 (declared) in the first innings on Day 2.
Resuming their innings from 243/2, the hosts dominated the Caribbean attack throughout the second day on the back of skipper Kane Williamson’s masterful double century.
Williamson, who was unbeaten on 97 overnight, played a marathon knock of 251 before getting out to Alzarri Joseph. His third double ton in Test cricket was laced with 34 fours and 2 sixes.
Apart from Williamson, opener Tom Latham (86) and pacer Kyle Jamieson (51) played significant knocks to propel New Zealand to a gigantic total.
In reply, the visitors ended the second day on 49/0 with John Campbell and Kraigg Brathwaite batting on 22* and 20* respectively.
Meanwhile, cricket experts on Twitter showered rich praise on Kane Williamson for his stunning display with the bat.
