England team management has confirmed that batsman Ollie Pope will be undergoing a scan on his left shoulder after dangerously sliding to save a boundary on Day 4 of the third and final Test against Pakistan in Southampton.
Sadly for Pope, it is the same shoulder he dislocated last year while playing for Surrey at the domestic level.

He left the field after the incident in the second over of the second innings, with James Bracey playing substitute to the 22-year-old throughout the rest of the day.
"He has obviously banged his shoulder again, so he will go for a scan on that, and we will assess from there, really," ESPNcricinfo quoted England's head coach Chris Silverwood as saying. "We will know more once he's had a scan."
Following-on after being dismissed for 273 in the first-innings, which they reached only because of gutsy efforts from skipper Azhar Ali (141) and wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan (53), the visitors made 100/2 until stumps, with openers Abid Ali (42), Shan Masood (18) dismissed and Azhar (29*) and Babar Azam (4*) not out overnight.
England made an impregnable total of 583/8 (declared) on the back of a memorable double ton (267) from Zak Crawley and century (152) from Jos Buttler.
A job well finished on Day 5 will help the home team seal the three-match series 2-0 and earn crucial World Test Championship points.
