ENG v PAK 2020: ‘Looks a class player’, Sourav Ganguly hails Zak Crawley after his double ton in 3rd Test

Crawley played an outstanding knock of 267 in England's first innings of the third Test.

Zak Crawley | GettyZak Crawley produced a marathon knock of 267 as England piled up a mammoth 583/8 (declared) in the first innings of the third and final Test against Pakistan at Southampton.

It was also Crawley’s maiden Test century in his 8th game. Batting at No. 3, he faced 393 balls in his innings and the knock was laced with 34 fours and 1 six.

During the course, Crawley also added 359 runs for the fifth wicket with Jos Buttler (152) as the hosts took a firm grip over the match.

With this herculean effort, the 22-year-old Zak Crawley also earned massive praise from former India captain Sourav Ganguly.

Taking to Twitter, Ganguly called the youngster a class player as he wrote: “England have found a very good no 3 in Crawley.. looks a class player .. hope to see him in all formats regularly.”

Coming to the match, England reduced Pakistan to 24/3 at stumps on Day 2 after posting a staggering total.

Veteran pacer James Anderson claimed all the three wickets that fell in Pakistan’s first innings on the second day. Shan Masood (4), Abid Ali (1) and Babar Azam (11) were his victims.
