Former England pacer Dominic Cork believes that the ace all-rounder Ben Stokes can become one of the greatest cricketers ever the English cricket has ever seen.

The 2019 World Cup hero recently played a stunning knock of 176 to take the hosts to a strong first-inning total of 469/9 declared as well as took 3 wickets to play a crucial role in England’s massive win of 287-run in the second Test against the West Indies.

During his magnificent innings, the all-rounder went on to become only the 6th player and second England players after Sir Ian Botham to complete 4000 runs and 150 wickets in Test cricket.

Cork said on Sky Sports show The Cricket Debate: “I genuinely think he can get better because of his work ethic. He wants to bat, he wants to bowl, he wants to work on his game, wants to get better.”

He further added, “I know he works a hell of a lot on his bowling as well. I just see this man not becoming only the best in the world but one of the best we have had ever. That’s how highly I rate him.”

Meanwhile, former England batsman Ravi Bopara also highly spoke about the remarkable change in Stokes’ approach over the years, especially since the Bristol incident.

Bopara said of Ben, “I think there has definitely been a change with Ben. He has made his mistakes and learned from them. He looks a formidable cricketer. He is a fiery character and always has been – even if you are playing PlayStation in hotel rooms.”

He signed off by saying, “But as he has had a more important role in the side as an all-rounder, making an impact with bat and ball, winning games for England, and since England have started looking at him as the main guy, his attitude has changed with it.”
